It’s an enormous news from the cluster of Hacking Scams™ news. It will surprise you, as I was surprised too while researching on the topic with a question.

Is this beginning of the World Cyber War by ISIS or just a Media Stunt?

The hacking of 1250(Approx.) websites has taken place worldwide by someone, who has self-claimed connection with the ISIS terror group.

The FBI, as well as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,  said, “We are investigating the Hacks.” As hackers put a picture of the black ISIS flag and the words ‘Hacked by ISIS, We are everywhere’ at the top of the targets landing page and also played a song in Arabic.

Reader now-a-days, not every fight happens over landscape or on the open sea or even in the air. You’ll also find a portion of the fiercest battling going ahead between computer systems. Rather than using bullets and bombs, the warriors are using bits and bytes.

Web sites that were hacked by the ISIS on this weekend include big corporate website and even Government websites all over the world. You can view a partial list of sites hacked in this image.

And in total other approximate 1240 websites.

Evan Kohlmann of Flashpoint Intelligence, a global security firm and NBC News consultant, said, “There are no indications that the individuals behind these latest hacks have any real connection to ISIS, and these defacements have taken place amid a spate of recent attacks where ordinary hackers have cynically used far-fetched references to ISIS as a means of attracting media attention.”

Many sites have been hacked over the world, and each website is gaining media attention in its concerned country. Every news site and media all over the world is covering the news.

Well, this is a matter to think. Is ISIS group really behind the hack? Or anyone is just using their name to gain media publicity. But, even I do think that someone is just using the name of ISIS group to get media attention.

The owners of victim websites are filing complaints in the cyber cell, and even FBI is investigating the hack.

At first look, the majority of the affected sites seem to have nothing in common, they’re hosted by different web hosting providers, and they’re registered with various domain name services.

But I have analyzed that there is one thing that is common in all the victim sites. All hacked website were developed in the WordPress Platform. WordPress is an online, open source website creation tool written in website development PHP language.

The entire victim sites were having vulnerable WordPress plug-in installed. Hackers have exploited vulnerable WordPress plug-in to hack all sites in one shot.  It is important for the website admin to understand the importance of the cyber security and to keep the website platform updated (WordPress plug-ins and WordPress version).

Hacking Scams™ also advise its visitors to keep their website security updated and stay safe from being hacked. Don’t forget to share this article with your friends and loved ones to keep them security updated.
